Ine

For those of you who have not heard about Ine’s passing - and for those who just want to know more about her super cool life on planet earth, these pages reflect a few of her many talents, all in her own words. May your energy live on, Ine...

Language and Communication have always been my passion, both professionally and personally, across cultures and borders. My vocation, bringing people together, creating bridges of understanding, be it as an interpreter, as a teacher, as a writer, as an organizer, or as a friend, allows me to indulge those two passions, also across cultures and borders.

This website is a work in progress. Life continues to bring its own surprises on the professional and the personal fronts. As we continue to acclimate to the Ever-New Normal, I am happy to share on both. And happy to hear from you on either.

As her name indicates, Ine-Marie (rhymes with Tina-Marie) van Dam started life speaking Dutch. An international traveler since age two, Ine-Marie (Ine to her friends) has extensive experience in many aspects of inter-cultural communication. She has served as interpreter for audiences ranging from presidents to union strikers, has translated and published on both sides of the Atlantic, and has taught, lectured and led discussion groups at myriad institutions of higher (and other) learning. Comfortably fluent in five languages, she balances her professional life, and keeps sane, with an ever-changing panoply of other activities.
